The end of the organized conflicts on the Northern Marches has meant that one-time Scarlett Hood, now King Rigelson of Collonia, has been slowly but surely consolidating his power across the provinces. The mad High King in Peakshadow has frozen them out so one after another, the nobles are slowly coming in line with their new kings authority. He has the will of the people. He commands the respect of the armies. He has the friendship of heroes. He wields the sword of the kings of Collonia from centuries past. And, he defeated the goblin hordes once and for all, in a series of decisive battles. Its hard not to call him king and be taken seriously.
With a proper king on a restored throne, things in Wanderhalt are looking up. Heroes and sellswords alike are being cut loose from their mercenary companies and fighter's guilds. Peace is always an uneasy time when armed men roam the streets. Certain names come back time and again and are seen in the flesh on the streets of the old city. Dwarves and Gnomes have been seen again. Even the reclusive Elves from the far West, selling their berry wine and a little attitude, besides. And lately there have been troubling rumors about giants and dragons in the mountains to the South, and a dragon for sale in the city itself!
Add to that, the return of a hero long forgotten, who toiled in anonymity, but was immortalized in local folklore. His voice is unmistakeable, his manner characteristic. Some say they have seen him in the flesh, and there is his faithful page. Could it really be...
