Most of the party remained in Gelder enjoying the recently won peace of the town and the fame that came with it. while Solomon backtracked to Ald Calta to train with the Black Order of the Dawn and Brumbar used his magic carpet to deliver Thalwyn to the baroness of Shu.
While in Gelder Apollo and Solomon were approached by locals who asked that their young lads be squired to the knights. They also met up with Samantha the Sorceress, recently come from Westrun to apply as the magister of the White Prince Alagar, a position she did not obtain.
While flying several hundred feet above the steppes for twenty one days, Brumbar and Thalwyn encountered a white dragon who announced his plan to go to an Eastrun town in Hamaria and dine. Along the way, he was happy to have some traveling companions and offered to buy them a drink in a small roadside public house he knew.
Brumbar and Thalwyn nervously accompanied the dragon inside and quickly discovered they shared the place with more than a dozen Daizu warriors. Neither they nor their companion spoke the language. Their pantomime calls for Westrun wine raised the ire of the Daizu who felt mocked. A classic bar fight ensued, during which the simple sod construction of the public house was brought down, the Daizu were slain and the mistress of the house impoverished.
During the melee, the dragon escaped undetected. Brumbar and Thalwyn gave the woman some money and their apologies and continued their journey to Shu. On the return leg, Brumbar would again encounter the dragon, but the two hurled passing epithets at one another and continued on their respective ways.
